The original is iconic and one of the best looking bikes of all time, imo. This thing, however looks kinda weird. But the shocks look amazing!

In reply to HDManitoba. Yep! I first saw the v-brake prototypes (Shimano) at the 1995 Specialized Cactus Cup on Paul Thomasberg's bike. They were pretty freaky looking, since we were only accustomed to u-brakes and canti's.

IIRC…. V-Brakes didn’t arrive on the scene until 1996.

Sold one of the original FSs after the bike had been on the floor for two years – not sure how I managed that! (I think it had mostly LX parts.)

Lack of gearing range with the small pinion gearbox is still an issue . Nowhere near the 520 percent of SRAM Eagle’s open system .
