Are you saying that you've damaged the controller and motor on these new Bosch CXs by riding them at continuous high power? If so, that is very concerning, but also surprising as I have never heard that claim made by other users. Regarding the Bafang bikes you have built, do you have any names I could Google or links to what you'd suggest? I am intrigued by them as Bafang seems to have great specs, and I like that they seem to sell spare parts and allow end users to work on them, but there's a bit of a hump to get over when it comes to finding a good frame, and then also figuring out compatibility between motor/battery/controller parts.

The flip chip gimmick is…well, just a useless gimmick. These bikes are potentially underpowered depending on the rider’s fitness level. I have ridden continuous steep 6-mile climbs & if you run at peak power for much longer than short bursts, you will damage the controller & motor. I’m would never pay up to 5750 euros for a bike that has Suntour shocks as in the 400 model. I have built MTB’s at the same weight or less with double the power using a Bafang mid-drive motor and for half of what the 400 model costs.
