Wilde Bicycle Co. takes pride in being a small company that likes to help small companies. A small bike company out of Minneapolis, MN, today they are introducing a new lightweight carbon fork. Their new Waypoint Tapered Carbon Gravel fork weighs in at 478g and “is among the lightest fully featured carbon forks on the market.”

Jeff Frane, President of Wilde Bicycle Co., says that he’s “Most excited about the ability to serve other small frame builders by providing them with killer OEM pricing if they want to use it or the Wayfinder (our straight steerer carbon fork) on their builds.”

Wilde thought the existing offerings in the carbon gravel fork category seemed too stiff and heavy for their liking. Wilde’s Earth Ship‘s lightweight and supple feel is where that bike shines. With that in mind, they ventured to design a fork from the ground up.

In comes the Waypoint. With an uncut steerer, the Waypoint weighs in at 478g. As mentioned earlier Wilde thinks that it’s among the lightest full-featured forks on the market.

The fork legs were specifically designed to soak up the rough stuff and isolate the rider from any road chatter. thus, allowing the rider to perform longer and in greater comfiness. The fork is said to accomplish this task without sacrificing strength or durability.

Ready for Adventure

Three-pack mounts

The Waypoint looks to have all of the features you would need for doing some exploring, some gravel grinding, or bikepacking. It has three-pack mounts, internal dynamo routing (yes!), internal cable routing, fender mounts (with a fully threaded center mount), and great tire clearance.

The Waypoint was designed for bikes with an EC34/44 or straight 44mm headtube that takes a tapered steerer. If you need a fork for a standard straight 1-1/8″ steerer or EC34 headtube, the OG Wayfinder would be your jam.

Like the Wayfinder, the new Waypoint would be a great solution for adding features and lightening up bikes like the All-City Cosmic Stallion, Surly Midnight Special, etc.
